Touring San Francisco using public transportation


This is a seven step beginner's guide to riding the
MUNI light rail and BART train system and CALTRAIN Regional Rail in and around San Francisco. Public transportation systems vary a fair amount between cities, visitors to San Francisco will need a few pointers on successfully navigating MUNI, BART and Caltrain.

If you visit San Francisco, you're most likely to either take a MUNI bus or a MUNI light rail, which operate in San Francisco. BART trains work for some local trips and is agreat option for regional Trips. CalTrain heavy rail, which goes up and down the Peninsula are also an option.
